It uses a flexible rubber material called thermoplastic polyurethane that allows for a snug yet firm fit. The Elite Thread Armor should be added AFTER the nut has been tightened. Designed to slip over the threaded end of the bolt AND the nut. Most Imported racks (such as REP & Titan) use Metric hardware.
